Jen Allgood, owner operator of JenScapes, Inc., is an avid gardener of 12 years and has been in business for over 6 years. The art and design of landscaping is her passion - she grew up watching her Sicilian grandfather, mother and father garden. And she educates herself continousouly by attending seminars, conventions and trade associations. She is currently on the board of advisors for the Houstonian Club and Spa.
She is a member of the Urban Harvest, Texas Nursery and Landscaper Association, the Organic Horticulture Business Alliance and she has earned the designation Texas Certified Nursery Professional, awarded by the Texas Nursery & Landscape Association.
This peer reviewed certification verifies that an individual has prepared through independent study and passed a four-hour exam covering the essential components of knowledge of a retail nursery professional. The exam includes information about botany, plant selection and maintenance, design, pest and disease management and sustainable urban agricultural practices. A TNLA Certified Nursery Professional must continue to keep current on information by earning continuing education credits to remain certified.
